Press Release Summary: Water Quality Index

Press Release Body:
The world is booming with industries nowadays. As numerous industries are being
setup at different parts of the country, the rate of water pollution caused by these
industrial effluents are increasing day by day. So, in order to minimize the
pollution rate and to improve its quality ,the wastewater(emitted by different
industries like textile, tannery industry etc) has been characterized on the basis
of different parameters like PH,COD,BOD,DO etc. These characteristics of water are
ultimately converted to water quality index which determine the quality of water.

The water quality index is an index which express overall water quality at a certain
location and time thereby determining whether the concerned water is suitable for
drinking, safety of human contact, and for health of ecosystems. Thus, attempts are
being made by these industries to treat the waste water by different techniques so
as to reduce the level of water pollution and making it ideal for use.
